Bulega on his Misano Test P1 - "If the track doesn’t get too hot, I think I can make it into the 1’31s range"

The #11 was at Misano for a good time, not a long time, as he only appeared at Day 2, but appear he did as he finished the Day in P1

Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) had a scorching day at Misano on the final day of Testing ahead of the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round. His late flying lap saw him lead the rest of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship riders back into the garage. Clocking in at 1’32.093s, had it been recorded during a round, it would have shattered the standing track record of 1’32.320 by nearly a quarter of a second.

STILL MORE IN THE TANK: “We solved a few problems, but there are still some corners that I don’t feel 100%”

Bulega has been in stellar form all year, currently sitting on a 31-point lead after his Race 2 win at Most, where he similarly came out on top after a battle with Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team). The next confrontation between the title rivals will take place at the same circuit, a track that last year Toprak took home a hat-trick from. If Bulega truly can improve even more on his blazing lap time, Toprak will need to pull out all the stops to catch the #11.

On his day at Misano ahead of the round to come, Bulega said, “Honestly, it was a difficult day, we had some problems at the beginning of the day, we solved most of them, but there are still some corners that I don’t feel 100%. I’m happy because I’m fast anyway, but I would like to improve. The speed maybe not, but my feeling on the bike could be better. The problems I was having were mostly regarding my feeling with the bike. I now feel 90% happy with the bike. If the track temperatures don’t get too hot, I think I can make it into the 1’31s range."
